Gold River Buzz is part of a new phenomena of blogging known as a HyperLocal blog. Really, it’s just a fancy way of saying ‘a local blog about local news/events/people, written by a local resident’.
I’ve been blogging for a few years now, and was inspired by the recent forest fire at Antler Lake and the way the community responded to the Facebook site for up to date information.
Gold River has nothing in the way of a web based community presense, so it’s my hope that this site will be informative and fun – for both citizens of Gold River, and also global viewers who are interested in our little Village.

This is am extremely helpful and informative site for our village…When I was in Bucerias Mexico I came across a site like this one and it let me know everything that was going on in that town at that time so I knew what to do and what was happening every day..
I will advertise this site on my own and hope we can keep it all positive.

i have lived in gr for over25 yrs and still have a place there along with many friends and as i spent better part of my wayward youth there it has many happy memories and i applaud ur efforts to keep me informed about my town and the going onsthere. It is refreshing to read about trivial stuff that brings a smile to my face and many reminicint memories instead of the kind of stuff i have to listen to living in the lower mainland since i was displaced from GR when the mill closed. keep up the good work and ur doing a very informative and well run site .Thx for the smiles i get when reading ur updates.
Thank you for sending me the invite via Facebook. I have had a chance to sit down and look through and I have really enjoyed it! A lot of time and effort and love has been put into this site and along with some laughs, recipes (which I will try) and good info. It will help keep us informed of what’s happening in our old hometown and with friends and family. Thanks again for thinking of me! Best of luck with everything!
