Deborah Papp is new to Gold River and has been a certified pet groomer since 2000.
She offers full grooming to cats and dogs – in her home or yours. She also clips nails, clean ears, expresses anal glands and is trained and certified in animal First Aid.
She has a Shih-Tzu named Samson, who is her therapy dog – he calms those that have grooming issues. Her specialty is grooming and handling abused and/or neglected dogs, as well as those that have grooming issues caused by a bad groomer or grooming inexperience.
Deb does not use crates or confines in her grooming – she is very hands on and grooms one on one – no production line! Deb says that her customers are not numbers, they have names, and kindness and respect are her motto’s.
Please call Deb at 283-9222 or email her at kismet256@hotmail.com to book an appointment.

As I’m sure you will recall, the bake sale & BBQ last month for the North Island Wildlife Recovery Association was a huge success! Gold River raised $1350 to go towards building the new bear enclosure!
Lynne Unger has just received the following letter:
Hi Lynne,
Please pass along our sincere thanks to all the folks in Gold River for the hard work and most generous donation in supporting our wildlife here at the Center. We are very touched that you have chosen our Center as your fundraiser and a mere thank you doesn’t seem enough but many thanks again. We have put the funds towards our buy a brick project.
Sincerely, Lil
Along with this letter Lynne received two pairs of tickets (4 in total) for entry to the NIWRA. ( When visiting the centre you will be able to view eagles, several species of owls, falcons, hawks, ravens, swans and black bears.) If you would like to win these tickets, please post a comment with your name and email on this post and you will be entered into a draw for a pair of these tickets.
Thanks once again Gold River for your support, and good luck in the draw!
(Gold River Buzz will print the comment list, and put all names into a hat and draw two lucky winners – each will win two tickets – one week from today on Sunday March 27th)
