What is road rally?
The annual Road Rally is an event sponsored by the Gold River Rod and Gun Club. Essentially it is a scavenger hunt done by car where you have to complete activities at some of the stops. One year we had to eat jello from a bowl not using our hands, so some of activities are pretty crazy. After a day of driving around town and gathering clues we meet for a potluck dinner and awards ceremony. Yes, 1st prize is planning the event the following year but it’s fun to plan as well as do.
Still interested? Road Rally is coming up this SATURDAY, APRIL 20th from 8:30am to 2pm and then from 6pm -1am. There is still space so if you are interested, phone Margie Weeks at 250-283-2308 or Suzanne Shears at 250-283-7722 by Friday. The theme this year is MOVIES so when you call to register, you’ll be asked which actor you’d like to represent. Costumes are optional but can get you more points towards winning!!
Hope to see you there!Email This Post to a Friend
From the Boondock website:
Boondock is a fun band from Comox, (and Campbell River, and Cumberland) British Columbia. We have all been playing for quite some time now and absolutely LOVE what we do. Our song choice is simple, we try to pay attention to what EVERYONE else is playing in the pubs…..and do a TOTALLY different set!!!! (minus a couple of songs that are just too good to pass up). We like to think we are different from any band you have heard before. Between the fun up beat, danceable (not my dog died and there’s a tear in my beer) kinda Country Music, to the Classic Rock licks of a lovely lady named Pat Benatar. Other names include Pink, Joan Jett, Bryan Adams, Sheryl Crow, Carlene Carter, Sugarland, Gretchen Wilson, Zac Brown Band…. and MANY MANY more.Email This Post to a Friend
