Gold River Bantam Hawks Win Gold!

Gold River played their hearts out to a Gold Medal finish yesterday vs the Vancouver Thunderbirds in a 5-2 victory. Great job everyone!

Thank you to all the parents, volunteers, referees and everyone else that supported the Gold River Minor Hockey Bantam Tournament this past weekend.

Congratulations to Cindy Matthews, Lucinda Grant, Devin Gillard and Dirk Tolmkin on the raffle table wins! Thank you everyone who supported our raffles and 50/50 draws.

Last but not least – thank you to Moe for feeding us all!

GRMH & GRSC Bottle Drive

Gold River Minor Hockey and the Gold River Skating Club will be having their second shared bottle drive of the year on Monday, February 6th starting at 6:30pm.

The kids will be coming door to door, but if you’d like to place your donations curbside ahead of time, please do so!

GR Hawks Bantam Tournament

The Gold River Bantam Hawks are hosting a hockey tournament here this coming weekend. (January 27th – 29th) Please take note of our Hawks’ game times and come to the arena to cheer on the kids, buy some raffle tickets and watch some great hockey!

Peewee Tournament – Jan 13-15

The Gold River Peewee Division will be hosting a hockey tournament here in Gold River starting Friday, January 13th and continuing throughout the weekend.

In addition to 50/50 draws, on Saturday they will be raffling off some amazing prizes including: a laptop, a Blackberry Playbook, a remote controlled helicopter, & an iPod dock.

19 Wing Comox Silver Totems in Gold River this Weekend

The Greyhawks hockey tournament has been cancelled for this weekend, however the 19 Wing Comox Silver Totems team will still be visiting.

They will be in Gold River on Friday, November 11th to attend our Remembrance Day Ceremonies and also to play some great hockey.

The 19 Wing troop of 16 will be participating in the Remembrance Day Parade beginning at approximately 10:45am and will march to the Gold River Legion in full uniform. The Legion will celebrate and remember this day with camaraderie throughout the afternoon.

The puck drops at 4:00pm sharp Friday afternoon when the 19 Wing Silver Totems take on our own Gold River Greyhawks at the Gold River Arena.

On Saturday, November 12th, the Silver Totems will be holding an informal hockey school for our Mites, Novice, Atom and PeeWee Divisions beginning at 10:30am. All Minor Hockey players are welcome and encouraged to attend.

The second men’s game of the weekend will follow in the arena at 2:00pm.

Please come down to the Arena for a great weekend of hockey! (And of course, a Moe burger or two! :) )
