Seasons of Gold River

Gold River resident Carole Young has done a photo set of all four seasons in our beautiful Village – each photo taken from her front deck.

I was so impressed by their beauty that I asked if I could share them here for everyone to see! (Click the image to open each photo in new page)

Carole says she almost didn’t get the Winter photograph with all the rain we got last year!

Fantastic idea and thanks so much for letting me share Carole! :)

Cuteness at the Gold River docks…

No, I don’t mean all those cute workers down at the docks!

Brian Pitt sent me this photo the other day.

Thanks Brian – what an adorable little guy!

Camera Club/Photography Group?

Annie Ciesielski emailed me today with the following:

I wonder if I should try again to see if there are anybody out there interested in a camera club in Gold River.  Last time only a couple of people responded, and I didn’t have their contact information.

What I envision is, that we could go out together on field trips – we could talk about what would spark an interest, such as if a person is especially interested in macro shooting, or others in low light photography, or maybe even a field trip to Duncan where they have the raptor sanctuary. I am sure that a lot of people know about some secret, cool places for photography!!!!

Also help each other with suggestions about equipment and how it is used, and if course if anybody wants critique or suggestions about their photo!

If there are some people who like this idea, we could have the initial meeting in my house, and then go from there – what do you think Gold River?

If you’re interested, comment on this post and leave an email address so that Annie can get in touch with you.  (To keep yourself safe from the spambots, type your email in long form – ie: mynameATcablerocketDOTcom)

Annie's photo makes the front page!

Gold River resident Annie Ciesielski was thrilled to discover that the photo on the front page of the MidWeek paper this week belonged to her!

Congrats Annie!  Your photo certainly deserved the front page!

Finally! Some elk pictures!

I’ve seen quite a few photos of our resident elk in the past few weeks, however they’ve all been at night, which doesn’t always give you the greatest view.

Cher Crawford sent me some daytime pics of the elk yesterday.  She said she took them at around 11am yesterday morning – they were walking down Dogwood Dr around the entrance to Peppercorn Park.

Thanks for sharing Cher!

Great photos Cher – thanks so much!  I love the one with the three bums! :-)

After the rain

Annie Ciesielski sent a gorgeous photo to the Buzz – one of many she took on Mill Road after the torrential rain we had last week.

Stunning Gold River area photos

Boy oh boy – after looking at the photos Annie sent me the other day, I sure know what is going on my Christmas wish list this year!

A Nikon D60 – just like Annie’s!

Upper Campbell Lake

The second shot of Upper Campbell Lake is nothing short of spectacular.  Perhaps if Santa brings me a new camera this year Annie will give me lessons? :-)

Gorgeous pictures submitted

I’ve been playing around with the gallery today, and think I have it looking much better than it was before.  Now you can mouse over the photos for a description, and I’m also able to credit the photographer.  (FYI: if there’s no name below them, then they were taken by me.)

Gold River resident Annie Ciesielski kindly sent me some photos today to add to Gold River Buzz.  You can see them below, and also in the gallery – enjoy!
