Graduation ceremonies take place at the GRSS gymnasium commencing at 6:30pm – doors open at 6:00pm. The grads will be doing the traditional march into the gym to a song of their choice, decked out in formal wear accompanied by a parent. Valedictorians for the 2010 grad class are Erica Engh and Nolan Meske. Congratulations to the Gold River class of 2010!
A huge thank you to all the terrific mentors who volunteered to work with the kids at RWES last week and put together just a fabulous week and festival. Thank you too, to staff and administration at RWES who embraced the idea and supported it whole-heartedly. The Friday night was amazing!! Thanks to the kids as well – their energy and enthusiasm were more than contagious. From all of us on PAC – Kate Ney, Sharon Charette, Rachel Stratton and Sally Cooper.

Ray Watkins Elementary School has been planning a community/school arts festival during BC Arts and Culture Week. They have 16 or so guest mentors from the community volunteering to come in and work with groups of kids every afternoon for the week and then will be having a community celebration/fringe festival at the elementary school for the kids to show off all of their hard work! There will be music and dance performances, and the entire school will be a gallery along with a lovely cafe. There will be face painting too – and it is amazing face painting! Admission is free, but they will be charging for goodies, and face painting is by donation. There will also be a BBQ from 5:30-6:30 at the school. Come on out – it will be amazing!  Email This Post
If you’re doing a big Spring Clean soon, save those treasures and donate them to the Gold River Secondary School PAC. The Flea Market is still about six weeks away, but that gives us all ample time to find some great donations!

Enjoy an evening of decadent desserts and Italian coffees Friday March 19th starting at 6:30pm. Tickets are $15 each and are available at the Uptown Cafe, Village Video, Clayworks, Anderson Flowers or from any PAC representative. All proceeds go to RWES PAC.
