Our Gold River Atom Hawks play at 10:00 am & 2:30 pm on Saturday, and 10:30 am on Sunday.  Playoff games will start at either 1:00pm or 2:30om Sunday afternoon

There will be 50/50 draws all day.

George N. Neill ~ June 20,1938-February 25,2010

With saddened hearts we say good-bye

Long time residents of Gold River, George and wife Dorothy moved to spend their retirement years in Campbell River. Dad and Mom enjoyed their retirement years traveling.  Dad loved fishing and earned the nickname “Relic”.  He loved camping and as a logger, I’m sure you can imagine that we always had the best campfire and most firewood in the campground.

He will be forever missed by Dorothy, Dean, Patricia, Shelia and family.

” We love you Dad.”

We will be holding a Celebration of George’s life Saturday March 6, 2010 from 1pm-5pm @ 905 Springbok Road, Campbell River BC.

Please come and share your memories.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in George’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

- Just in case you hadn’t noticed, I’ve added a few more pics to the Gallery, and also a bunch of maps to the Maps/Extras section.  (Thanks Suzanne & Chelsey!)

-  I keep thinking that the Gallery really only has area type photos, and not very many of the actual Village of Gold River.  If anyone has a few that they’d like to share, please send them my way and I’ll add them to the Gallery.  (Yes, I could go take some myself, but Winter without snow isn’t really the most attractive!)  Oh, and Luna photos.  He was such a big part of Gold River, I think he should have a few pics in the Gallery.  (Preferably ones where you’re not touching him! )

- For now though, we can always check out vPike.com -  if you haven’t seen it yet, check it out.  Put your home address in the search bar (ie: 123 anyroad Gold River BC) and sit back and say holy s**t!  Very cool, and pretty unnerving at the same time.  Here are a couple screen shots I grabbed earlier:

All of Gold River is mapped out this way, and you can zoom into houses pretty darn close.  (The blinds on our house are wide open – good thing it wasn’t a Thursday! ) They mapped all the way to the docks, and as far as the turnoff to Tahsis.

- Consuela came and cleaned for hours and hours and hours on Friday!  It was heaven to come home to a nice clean house!  Thank you Consuela! (aka: Rose)

Longtime Gold River resident Barb Lawrence passed away at her home yesterday, following a battle with cancer.  She passed peacefully and was surrounded by her husband Brian and all her children.

There will be a celebration of her life on Saturday the 27th of February at 3pm in the Community Centre.  The service is open to all those who wish to come and remember her.
