Buttle Lake Teen Campout

It’s time to get away for the night and head to Buttle Lake for some camping. We will spend some time at the water, eat some good food, play some fun games and have some campfire time (minus the campfire of course).

The cost is $10 and of course you need a waiver signed (Thanks Parents!!). The van will leave the Thrive Centre at 7pm Friday August 20th, and will be back by 12pm on Saturday. If you can get out earlier we will have people at the campsite. Bring everything you need for an overnight trip: sleeping bag, clothes, toiletries, flashlight, Bible etc. We will bring the tents.

Thrive Peppercorn Hike

We will be kicking off our first summer event with a hike on the Peppercorn Trail. We will also jump in the river so be ready to get wet if you want to. We will meet at the Thrive Centre at 12pm Friday July 2nd.

Thrive Unite!

This Friday (July 2) will be our summer’s first Thrive Unite!

Thrive Unite is a chance for all 4 Thrive youth groups in Gold River, Courtenay, Campbell River and Powell River to get together! We will have a blast with an awesome band, funny games and a relevant message! There will be a tonne of teens from all over the North Island and Powell River.

This Friday (July 2nd) we will meet at the Church and head to Courtenay at 4:00pm. The cost is $10 per person. We will spend the night in Courtenay and be back in Gold River by 12:30pm Saturday. Breakfast is included! If you are coming we will need a signed waiver which you can get at the Peppercorn hike or bring a parent when we meet at the church at 4:00pm. Please let me know as soon as possible if you are coming so we can arrange the vans.

At the Gold River Legion this weekend:

Friday night (July 2nd) at the Legion this weekend is Karaoke night! There is also a Bachelorette party going on in town that night, and I’d be willing to bet you’ll see the ladies out and about at some point in the night!

Saturday (July 3rd) is UFC #116 starting at 7:00pm. The main event is Lesnar vs Carwin, and it’s being touted as the biggest heavyweight battle in history! DJ music to follow the fights.

UFC 115 @ the Legion tonight

UFC 115 Liddell vs Franklin will be on the big screen at the Gold River Legion tonight starting at 7:00pm.

This UFC is live from GM Place in Vancouver, but if you weren’t lucky enough to get tickets to the real event, the Legion is the next best thing!
