Do you think it’s a little late to announce that Karaoke starts at the Legion tonight in 15 minutes? Well it does. The last Karaoke night was fantastic – the singers were so good that everyone was up dancing! So hurry up – get your shoes on and go check it out! UFC 112 is on the big screen at the Legion tomorrow night – the event starts at 7:00pm sharp. And don’t forget – burger nights are every second Thursday with the next one on April 15th starting at 5:00pm.

Just a little bit of music trivia to lighten the mood. Discussing dog poop all day wears a girl out, ya know? For more music trivia, you’d best head to the Gold River Legion this Friday (March 26th) at 8:30pm. Hostesses for the night will be the lovely duo of Sandi and Suzanne. Come on out and have some fun! Dancing starts at 8:30pm – no cover charge. There will be festive green drinks, spot dances and male and female prizes for “Wearer of the most Green”. Come on out for fun, dancing and socializing!
The Greyhawks will be traveling to Powell River at the end of this month for a tournament, but this will be their last home game of the season. The arena lounge will be open, so come cheer on the Oldtimers and enjoy a beverage at the same time! 7:00pm sharp! Email This Post
Friday Feb 19th - Thrive teen night is Friday – there will be a jam session for all those interested in making some music from 3:30-5:00pm. The group will head to the arena at 6:30pm to support the skate carnival at the ice rink, and at 8:30pm will head back to the Thrive Centre for a Thrive night! Get ready for some great games, great friends and a great discussion. - Karaoke will be going at the Gold River Legion – usually running from around 8:30pm on. - Of course no one will want to miss out on the Skating Carnival at 6:30pm tonight! Bring some extra cash for a beautiful basket raffle, 50/50 tickets and to buy flowers for the skaters. Saturday Feb 20th - The Gold River Hawks Mites (5/6 yrs) will be playing their first home games this Saturday. Game times are 10:00am and again at 1:00pm. The little guys are absolutely adorable to watch, so don’t miss it! - Speaking of adorable to watch…(cough, cough), the Gold River Grey Hawks will be taking on Powell River Saturday from 7:00-9:00pm and then again at 10:00am on Sunday. The Arena Lounge will be open Saturday night as well. The Powell River team always has a great time when they come to Gold River – perhaps TOO great a time! A little birdie told me that the last time they were here one of the players got himself lost (because, hey – we all know how easy that is to do in Gold River!?), went looking for help and ended up sleeping on a bench in the Courtroom!
