On November 12th, 2016, the Nootka Sound RCMP received a report of a cougar sighting in the 300 block of Chamiss Cr. The cougar was spotted at approximately 7:45 am in the back yard of a residence as it jumped the fence and headed into the wooded area. No other sightings were reported and the information was forwarded to B.C. Conservation Officers.
