Two more victims, (aka: volunteers) for the Dunk Tank on Saturday! Jim Murphy and Bill Wright! Bring on the bucks! $5 for 3 balls, all for a good cause!
Anyone participating in the parade with a vehicle or decorated float must meet up at the School Board parking lot (facing Campbell River direction) at 10am for judging and placement. Any walking groups, marchers, etc must be up at the parking lot to join in by 10:30am. Any children with decorated bikes, wagons, etc wishing to join in can meet at the Gold River Chalet parking lot by 11:30am.
The parade through town commences at 11am starting from the School Board Parking lot, turning right on Muchalat, left on Nootka, right on Matchlee, right on Muchalat, left on Nimpkish (Chalet) – the entire length of Nimpkish and right on Highway 28 to finish where we started at the Parking Lot. I’m thinking the parade will take up to 1 1/2 hours to go through town.
The Party in the Park will commence after an opening ceremony at 1pm going until approximately 5pm. Free salmon, hamburgers, hotdogs as well as a Chili contest & Apple Pie contest all judged by the community attending the festivities.

Gold River Days have been revived! Let’s get the Spirit back into Gold River!
Saturday May 8th, 2010 – 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
We’ll be starting off with a parade of floats, motorbikes, bicycles, antique cars, clowns, wagons, walkers, etc, followed by a party in the park for the entire community! Free BBQ, Bounce-a-rama’s, face painting, apple pie contest, Chili Bake-off and other fun activities! Topping the night off with a Gold River Days Dance at the Legion. There is no theme this year, it’s open to your imagination!
There are too many things to list so keep watching for more details.
We challenge YOU to challenge other businesses, committee’s, clubs, organizations and friends to enter the BEST float into the parade! All participants are welcome in the parade! Awards and prizes to be won!
