Nootka Sound RCMP are advising the temporary closure of Highway 28 due to an accident at approximately 2:30pm today.
A logging truck dumped it’s load of logs just east of the Strathcona Park Lodge. Officials are estimating the road to be closed for three to six hours.
Update: As of about three hours ago the Highway is open to one lane traffic. The Drive BC website updated at 8:26pm saying that the road has now been cleared.
FYI – here are some pics of the incident taken by Craig Anderson:

Road was open to one lane traffic at about 5:15 or so when we came through. We had come upon the accident at 2:45 and decided to turn back to Campbell River rather than wait in the car for the police and such to do their stuff. It was quite a mess.
