Open House – Gold River Energy-from-Waste Project

Residents of the Village of Gold River and Strathcona Regional District Electoral Area ‘A’ are invited to an Open House on the Gold River Energy-from-Waste (EfW) Project.

Wednesday, July 21st 2010 at 6:00pm at the Community Centre

Covanta Energy Corporation (Covanta) and Green Island Energy Ltd. (GIE) are proposing to develop a thermal electric power plant at the site of the former Gold River Pulp and Paper Mill.  The Project will be capable of converting approximately 750,000 tonnes of post-recycled municipal solid waste per year to clean energy.

The purpose of the Open House is to provide an update on the Project, including information on permit applications under the provisions of the Environmental Management Act.

The Open House will be held in Gold River, BC:

at:  Gerry Morgan Community Centre

on: Wednesday, July 21st 2010

from: 6:00pm – 9:00pm

Representatives of Covanta and GIE and their consultants and technical advisors will be in attendance to present project information and respond to questions and comments.
