Ray Watkins Elementary School has been planning a community/school arts festival during BC Arts and Culture Week.
They have 16 or so guest mentors from the community volunteering to come in and work with groups of kids every afternoon for the week and then will be having a community celebration/fringe festival at the elementary school for the kids to show off all of their hard work!
There will be music and dance performances, and the entire school will be a gallery along with a lovely cafe. There will be face painting too – and it is amazing face painting! Admission is free, but they will be charging for goodies, and face painting is by donation. There will also be a BBQ from 5:30-6:30 at the school.
Come on out – it will be amazing!
