Scott Cobbe Appointed as Principal of Ray Watkins Elementary School

Chairperson Carol Donaldson of the Board of Education for Vancouver Island West School District 84 wishes, on behalf of the Board, to announce that Scott Cobbe has been appointed as Principal of Ray Watkins Elementary School, effective August 1, 2012. Mr. Cobbe will be replacing Jim MacPherson, who is retiring after six years of excellent service to students, parents and staff.

Mr. Cobbe began his career in Creston, BC teaching at both the elementary and secondary level. He has a wide variety of teaching experiences including gifted programs, alternate programs, Japanese, Advanced Placement English, and counselling.

Scott is currently Principal of Captain Meares Elementary Secondary School in Tahsis, a position he has held since 2010. Prior to his time in SD84, Scott served as Principal of Ashcroft Elementary, Ashcroft Secondary and Gold Trail Distributed Learning in SD74 (Gold Trail).

We all look forward to working with Scott in his new role as Principal of Ray Watkins Elementary School. Congratulations and welcome to your new community!

    How lucky for Gold River. Scott has been a well-liked and respected principal in Tahsis for the last two years. His positive and cooperative attitude will be missed.
