This is a quick update from the RCMP on the missing person file.
Today marks the seventh day of the search, and there are still no signs of Shawn (Ryan) Kennedy. However, authorities have located and identified some items of Kennedy’s clothing in the area where he was last seen.
Several police and other agencies are involved in this search such as the RCMP Air Section, Dog Section, Forensic Identification Section and the Police Dive Team. Also involved is the Campbell River Search & Rescue unit who have called in volunteers from Courtenay/Comox, Parksville as well as the Gold River Policing Volunteer Society.
Police are still following several leads, however the bulk of the ground search has been completed with all areas exhausted. Search & Rescue will continue to attend the area on occasion to continue the search.
The public is encouraged to contact the Gold River RCMP should they have any information in regards to this case.
