Willful damage to RCMP vehicle

Between 11-11:30 pm this past Friday night RCMP were conducting routine patrols around the Village of Gold River when an object was thrown at the vehicle and the rear side window was smashed.

Nootka Sound RCMP were driving near the 400 Block of Nimpkish Ave (near the Gold Crest Apartments) when a beer can full of rocks came hurtling at the rear passenger window.  Cst. Lockhart was driving and Aux. Cst. Kennedy was in the passenger seat.  I’m sure Aux. Cst. Doug Kennedy was grateful the culprit(s) throw didn’t come a split second earlier or the beer can would have come right at him!  While he was VOLUNTEERING his time for our community, I might add.

The beer can was recovered at the scene and has been sent away for fingerprint testing – the investigation is ongoing.
