Attention all writers and aspiring writers!
If you write, or are thinking about becoming a writer, you do not want to miss the upcoming North Island Writers Conference on January 26 and 27, 2018.
Co-hosted by the Comox Valley Writers Society and North Island College’s English Department, the weekend kicks off on Friday with a free social event featuring keynote speaker Bev Sellars, the current Haig-Brown writer-in-residence. Everyone is welcome. Social begins at 6:30 pm in the Tyee Lounge, NIC Comox Valley Campus. Refreshments will be served and books on sale.
Saturday offers 15 interactive workshops and panels with 23 published authors. There is something for everyone from getting that first idea, wrestling with writer’s block, grinding through the edit process, and self-publishing. Need insight into writing for young adults, leading readers through clues in a gripping mystery, creating a dynamic stage play, or putting words to music? The invited authors have these covered, and more.
But hurry! Registration is closing soon. Check out the full program on the CVWS website: http://cvwriterssociety.ca/conference. When you have made your selection, you can register and pay online through NIC at https://squareup.com/store/north-island-college.
