A Gold Riverite posted on Facebook the other day that they saw a man in a red Ford Explorer (the drivers door read Explorer under the window in big letters) throw his cigarette butt out his car window in front of the gas station.

This resident immediately got out of their car and extinguished the burning cigarette.

The BC Government is “considering harsher punishments for careless people who start wildfires, including impounding cars for tossing cigarette butts out of the window.”

So one day soon in BC if you toss a cigarette out your window, you may lose your car.
