News Release
It’s back to school for Gold River and Tahsis students next week. “We’re encouraging parents to review the rules of the road with their children and go over their daily route to and from school. Drivers should expect more traffic and watch for children, especially in and around school zones” stated Cst.Walker of the Nootka Sound RCMP
The first day of school this year is on Tuesday September 6th and the Nootka Sound RCMP along with the ICBC Speed Watch Volunteers will be out monitoring traffic to ensure that motorists are complying with the school zone speed limits which are posted 30km/hr between the hours of 8am and 5pm on school days. School buses are back on the road as well and motorists are reminded to obey the red flashing lights regarding no passing as children are either entering or exiting the stopped buses.
